1 - Saltburn Pier

Photograph of Saltburn Pier. Saltburn is on the East coast of North Yorkshire and the Pier protrudes northwards into the North Sea. The photograph was taken from the West side of the pier to catch the golden rays of the sunset. A stormy afternoon had cleared the atmosphere to leave a brilliant light and the wet sand of the receding tide helps to saturate the colour of the late afternoon light.

To retain as much of the pier in focus as possible a wide angle 28mm lens was used with an aperture of F22. An exposure was taken from the sunlit sand and set as a medium tone.
